Google search console
Google search console is a free web service Google product to optimize the website, to check the Indexing status and errors.Verification steps are to prove the ownership of the website
Steps for verification
- Create a blog
- Login Into your Google search console account
- Copy your blog URL with “.com” extension if it exist as “.in” (only visible to Indians) change to “.com” by adding ncr (no country redirect)
- On Google web master tools page paste the copied URL at the area provided to add the website
- Select on add property option
- Select the required verification technique from the options given. i.e HTML tag method. Copy the meta tag (<meta name =google-site-verification”content”…….”/>)
- In blogger page select theme option -> edit html option. In the head part of the html code paste the copied meta tag and select save theme option. If WordPress then select tools option and then available tools then website verification services paste the URL and the save changes.
- On search console page select verify
- Verification successful message appears with a green tick, that confirms your ownership of the website.
Steps for fetching and indexing
- Select continue option after the verification message appears. Which will be directed to the blog dash board
- On left side select crawl option an in the drop down list select fetch as Google option.
- Copy the URL of your blog that need to be crawled either the entire URL or the page URL. Paste only the URL avoiding the blog address part.
- Select fetch option
- On the new window select the option if need to crawl only a particular page select first option and if need to crawl its links too select the second option and select GO.
- Wait for indexing to be finished completely.
